Filled with Glory and Peace

Filled with Glory and Peace

“For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

Haggai 2:6-9

Filled with GLORY & PEACE.

A second temple was being built, but it did not - and would not - have the same opulence or splendor as the first. Kings and people would influence the final structure, but Haggai shared something different under the direction of the Lord. The words he delivered spoke of a shaking of all nations, the ownership of all things, and what the temple would be filled with.

God is not contained by or within a building. He is not a necklace, or statue, or place. God is almighty, everywhere, and always. As His children, by accepting Jesus, we become the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. We are His temple, and our duty is to glorify Him, and our reward? His Peace.

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Dear Jesus,

Forgive me for the times I have not treated my body as your temple. The chapters of my story that did not and do not glorify you. Thank you for the gift of your Son, through Him I am made clean. Thank you for the helper, the Holy Spirit, who is with me always. Give me wisdom and discernment. Draw me closer to you Lord, keep me from temptation and the evil one. Shake up my world God, open my eyes to see that which does not please You, give me ears to hear Your purpose alone, and a heart anchored in faith to follow You.

Amen
