Now therefore listen to my, my children, for blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it.
Proverbs 8:32-33
Was chatting about friendships this morning, the loss of a friendship. A friendship that spans a decent amount of time, and a had depth. When the relationship changes from intimate to close to acquaintance to over; it may be necessary to establish those boundaries, but it isn't always easy.
Learning the lesson to let go, can be difficult. It hurts when someone you cared for and about is no longer a happy or healthy part of your life. We as humans are allowed to mourn the ending relationships - personal, professional, platonic, or romantic. It is in that mourning, if approached with a heart open to learning, that we find wisdom waiting.
Dear Jesus,
Help me to turn to you when I am hurting. Open my eyes to see Your lesson and purpose for this experience. Soften my heart, and fill me with Your grace. Give me wisdom according to Your promises. Help me to LISTEN for Your voice even through my sadness, show me what You would have me learn. Protect me from bitterness, and remove from me any hurt or anger before it can take root.
In Jesus Name - Amen.
